Funding mechanism: Innovation in Education and Health to Combat Poverty

Funding mechanism: Innovation in Education and Health to Combat Poverty

Innovative project concepts for development assistance within health and education are invited in this call for project outlines. The project concepts submitted will help define thematically and financially the subsequent main calls to be issued by the Research Council, Innovation Norway and Norad, respectively, in the first half of 2016.

Deadline: 17 February 2016

Who is eligible to submit a project outline?
Norwegian companies, groups of companies, industry organisations, research institutions, foundations and NGOs that are registered in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities are eligible to submit project outlines. To ensure that projects are designed to contribute to poverty reduction, the outlines should include partnerships with international actors and/or actors based in the countries in which the project is planned implemented.

The main calls for proposals will also be open to applicants that have not submitted project outlines, and funding will be awarded to the best projects on a competitive basis.

Amount of funding presumed available for this call for proposals:

The project outlines do not form the direct basis for any funding awards.

Up to NOK 90 million will be made available under the first round of main calls for proposals, which will be issued before summer 2016.

For the main calls all innovation projects must have a budgetary frame of NOK 5–15 million over a 2–4 year period.
