International conference at UiO: “Every Picture Tells A Story – The Visualization of Japanese History”
How has the images and interpretations of the most outstanding periods and personages in Japanese history changed during the modern periods?
At the 10th and 11th of March, the University of Oslo hosts the international conference “Every Picture Tells A Story – The Visualization of Japanese History” where this is the central question. Titles of presentations range from “Colonial nostalgia in Japanese Television” to “Studio Ghibli and the Artisanal Approach to the Past” to “An Overlooked Golden Age?: Representations of the Heian Era in Contemporary Japanese Public History Venues.”
