Nordic Association for the Study of Contemporary Japanese Society (NAJS) Conferance

You are most welcome to the Twelfth Annual NAJS Conference. The conference will take place on the Gløshaugen Campus of the Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU), and is sponsored by the NTNU Japan Program and its annual Japan Seminar. We invite paper proposals from scholars based in the Nordic region, Japan, and beyond on a broad set of topics related to Japanese society and culture, past and present, including politics and international relations, economy and business, sociology and anthropology, popular culture, literature, religion, and art. Reflecting the conference venue at NTNU, one topic that will be highlighted this year will be energy in all its forms (e.g. fossil fuels, nuclear power, renewable energy), and the role of government, business, and society in making decisions about energy. However, to reemphasize, the conference is open to all the topics mentioned above, and most panels will not be energy related.

Registration forms and more information about the conference can be found on the NAJS website.

Please read the guide for participation (also on the website) before registering and sending your abstract.
